There are many themes available for baby showers these days, but the Precious Moments baby shower theme has got to be one of the most popular and enduring choice of themes.  This romantic theme was originally designed by artist Sam Butcher in the 1970s.

Although this creation has been around for more than 20 years, time has done nothing to lessen the hold that Precious Moments has on the hearts of collectors around the world.  It has been noted that many of these clubs have a staggering membership that sometimes reaches into the hundreds of thousands!

Traditionally, the first colors associated with Precious Moments were blue or pink, but today we find that the spectrum has broadened into a variety of colors including lavender and pale green.  The range is completely unisex and would look great at any shower whether it be for a boy or a girl.

The logo does much to capture our hearts with it’s depiction of a little baby nestled on the moon or on a cloud.  Your guests will love receiving their invitations asking them to “Please Join Us”.

Imagine walking into the chosen spot for the baby shower, fully decorated in the Precious Moments theme, giving one a feeling of sweetness and all that is innocent and pure.  First off is the beautiful banners spelling baby shower which you can use to decorate the wall or even the front of tables.  The tables themselves will be decorated with the Precious Moments table cloth showing the little baby holding his blanket asleep on the moon.  As an added touch to the tables, a gorgeous centerpiece is also available, with a sweet little baby surrounded by rainbows and clouds.

As you know food is an important part of any baby shower and your guests can enjoy their food whilst you continue the theme using the adorable paper plates, cups and napkins.

The beauty of this range is that is can easily be added to with other simple decorations.  Boasting a wide array of colors ranging from blue and lavender to pale pink or green, makes it easy to mix and match these colors for even more choices in visual appeal at your shower.  The range of Precious Moments that are available are so simple that they are a wonderful complement to a persons home or any other location.

In addition to the beautiful decorations for your Precious Moments baby shower, you can show your guest appreciation by sending them Precious Moments Thank You cards.  All your guests will be thrilled to receive this card and it is a lovely keepsake to what I am sure will be a truly memorable occasion.

The mother-to-be has spent time together working out the details of the shower, including the baby shower theme, and now it’s time to get busy pulling all the details together so the end result is a memorable occasion. How extensive the decorating gets will depend greatly on the amount that has been budgeted for this task. It’s also going to depend on the number of guests that are expected to attend. Keep in mind that each additional guest will increase the overall cost of the baby shower, even if it’s just slightly.

Just how much decorating is enough? That question is difficult to answer in general terms. Each baby shower is different, and each baby shower budget is different as well. The extent of decorating is also going to depend on the location of the baby shower. For example, if the shower is being held at a restaurant or private venue, there may be limits on what can be decorated and the types of decorations that can be used. That’s why it’s a good idea to clarify the decorating details before reserving a location.

Regardless of location, a few basic decorations will go a long way towards creating the right effect. Begin with a special signboard or balloon bouquet to mark the location of the baby shower. That’s a perfect way to show at a glance that a festive occasion awaits those who enter. For a memorable effect, choose the sign or balloon colors that complement the theme of the baby shower.  There’s no mistaking the purpose of a stork – it’s a clear sign that a baby is coming soon!

The next place to spend some of the decorating budget is on the paper goods, and in particular, those items that are needed for food and beverages. Food is almost always served at baby showers and guests will need something to put food on and drinks in. Offering guests theme-inspired or color-coordinated plates, cups, napkins, and eating utensils that support or that complement the theme of the baby shower is always a great idea.

From there, what else gets decorated becomes mostly a matter of money. Tablecloths are a great way to pull a room together. Again, if there’s a theme, there’s probably a tablecloth available in that theme. Hanging paper streamers across the ceiling and banners across walls are both inexpensive ways to create a festive mood and reinforce the baby shower message. Bags of confetti sprinkled across tabletops add a bit of glitz.

Centerpieces can be added onto tables, but if money is tight, the cake can always do double-duty as a centerpiece. Fresh flower arrangements, place cards and candles are other ways tables can be dressed up.

For planning purposes, decorating typically happens on the day of or one day before the baby shower. Purchase decorations several weeks in advance, except for balloons which should be picked up on the day of the shower.
